Ivy Mix is a Brooklyn-based bartender with a passion for mixology. After working her way up the rungs of the bartending world, she eventually found her way to the renowned Clover Club, where she first teamed up with cocktail maven Julie Reiner. Together, the duo catapulted the bar to prominence, earning the Spirited Awards for Best High Volume Bar and Best American Bar in 2013. In 2015, Mix and Julie Reiner launched Leyenda, where the menu veers toward tequila, rum, and other pan-Latin specialities that reflect Mix’s connections to Guatemala, where she got her first start crafting drinks. Shortly after, Mix was honored with the Spirited Award for American Bartender of the Year.
When she’s not dreaming up inventive ways to combine spirits, Mix also organizes Speed Rack, a national competition for female bartenders that she founded with fellow mixologist Lynnette Marrero. Currently in its fifth season, Speed Rack is dedicated to celebrating the talents of women who work behind the bar while also raising money for breast cancer research, education, and prevention.
