Cooking on a Keyhole Fire Pit

Project Credit: Bernzomatic Torchbearer Nick Grzechowiak

Light a grill keyhole fire pit with a Bernzomatic torch and reach cooking temperatures in minutes without the chemical taste caused by lighter fluid. This is a project that most people can do themselves with the use of a Bernozmatic torch and some other essential tools.

Directions

  1. Appropriately stack the tinder and wood in the keyhole fire pit.
  2. Ignite the WT2301C in order to get the fire started.
  3. Once the fire has been started, do not feed the fire with more wood. Let the wood burn down into hot coals.
  4. Once coals have been formed, rake the coals into the keyhole portion of the fire pit.
  5. Move the fire grate over the keyhole portion of the pit.

Tips

  • Read our General Safety Precautions before starting your project.
  • Read the instructions that come with your torch before beginning your project.
  • The torch flame should be blue for optimal temperature.
  • Always remove torch from fuel cylinder and store fuel in an upright position after completing your project.
