Torched Wooden Gift Tags

Torched Wooden Gift Tags

These rustic monogrammed gift tags are a cut above every other tag out there. Why? Because they are custom made. All it takes are small wood pieces, a little glue, and a Bernzomatic Trigger Start 3 in 1 Micro Torch ST2200!

I swear, this little torch has become a main staple in all things crafty and DIY. It has three uses- a mini blowtorch, a solder iron, and a heat gun. It comes with an attachment so you can adapt it to whatever you need. There is a small dial on the side to regulate the length of the flame, and you also will find a safety latch before you start it up.

Supplies

Here is my latest creation – monogrammed holiday gift tags! I went with the rustic and woodsy theme (I think I’m watching too many Hallmark holiday movies, lol!) and I even found glittered woodgrain gift wrap.

Call a “smokey sparkle” kind of theme, you know?

Wooden hearts and letters

Directions

  1. Drill a hole at the top of each heart. This is so you can add a jump ring later and use it as a gift tag.
  2. Hot glue the letters to the wood hearts, you can also use white craft glue if desired.

  3. Bust out the torch! I used a medium flame. Make sure to wear your goggles and gloves and make sure you are in a heat safe work area. Free of debris or anything flammable. Read the package directions to ignite your micro torch.

  4. Lightly burn the edges, just to get a rustic look. It doesn’t take much.

  5. Add your jump rings, twine and then attach to your wonderful and thoughtful gifts!
