Holiday Table Chargers

With the holidays approaching, learn how to make the perfect table décor to accentuate your festive flatware using a blow torch!

Directions

  1. Measure the approximate size charger desired by placing a dinner plate on top. If you have the proper tools, you can cut the wood pieces at home.

  2. Take each of the squares and sand them down so that the edges and surfaces are all smooth. Then, glue down the half wooden balls starting at each corner. Go around the whole perimeter of the square until they line all the edges.

  3. Using the Bernzomatic TS3500, torch the edges and surfaces giving it a beautiful rustic finish.

  4. Rub on some cerusing wax to help lighten the color and create a whitewashed appearance. This step adds a nice vintage weathered look while giving it a protective coat. If you love the darker grains, you can choose to add some coats of polyurethane instead.
