Sweet Soy Beef Tataki and Shishito Pepper Skewers

 

Steps

Marinade

  • 2 cups soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sambal
  • 1 cup sugar

Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.

Beef

  • 1 pound thinly sliced sirloin beef
  • 1 dozen shishito peppers

Marinate beef for 30 minutes then skewer. Using torch, cook beef to rare and blister peppers.
