Mangold’s Smoked Cheeseburgers

Directions

  1. Heat your smoker to 275 degrees. Form four 8oz patties of ground beef and salt and pepper both sides.
  2. When your smoker is at temperature, place the burgers on the smoker.  Smoke them until the internal temperature is 160 degrees about 45 mins.
  3. While the burgers are smoking, slice your onion.  Now build your burger with onion going on top of your bottom bun.  Add the ketchup and mayo your top bun then place the lettuce on top of the top bun.
  4. As soon as the burgers reach temperature, take out your Bernzomatic torch and torch the patties until you see a good char on both sides.  Add two slices of American cheese to each patty and put the patty on top of the onion.  Hit the cheese with the torch to help melt the top and then add your top bun.
