Egg in a Basket

 

Serious tailgaters start the party early, so try out this torched breakfast sandwich to fuel up on game day.

Steps

  1. Cut a circle out (2.5”) of the center of one slice of bread using a small round cutter.
  2. Melt half of the butter in a large nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat until foaming subsides. Add the bread slice with the hole, break an egg into it and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about two minutes, swirling occasionally, until bread is golden brown on bottom side. Then, flip and cook for another two minutes. Set aside.
  3. Add the remaining butter and place the other bread slice on pan. Add cheese followed by ham and use the Bernzomatic TS8000 to char the ham. Carefully place the egg bread on top and add a cheese slice to the top. Torch to melt and roast the cheese using the Bernzomatic TS8000 torch. Serve and enjoy!
