Charred Crab Dip

This Charred Crab Dip is the perfect party appetizer. It’s made in one bowl, easy to make and is slightly healthier because it uses yogurt instead of mayonnaise. It’s loaded with cheese and of course crab, making it a tasty, savory dish.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Use an electric mixer to combine cream cheese and yogurt together until smooth; then, add all remaining ingredients EXCEPT the crab and mix.
TIP: Set a reminder to take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator an hour or two before actually making the dip. Otherwise, it’ll be difficult to mix, and it may end up being kind of lumpy. The dip should be mostly smooth in texture other than the crab.
  3. Next, stir in the crab by hand using a spatula or spoon until it’s well combined.
  4. Scoop dip into an oven-safe skillet and place it in the oven. Bake the dip for 15 minutes or until the edges are bubbling.
  5. Remove dip from the oven, then use your Bernzomatic TS8000 torch to char the top of the dip until it’s golden brown.
TIP: Char the dip: Don’t skip this step! Charring the dip makes a huge difference and improves the flavor immensely! Use your TS8000 torch to char the dip, which should only take 10-15 seconds.
  6. Serve with carrots, celery or crackers and enjoy!
