Light and Cook on a Backyard Rock Stove

Light a rock stove with a Bernzomatic torch and reach cooking temperatures in minutes without the chemical taste caused by lighter fluid.

Steps

  1. Place one cinderblock on the ground.
  2. Next, take a brick and place on top aligning it with the middle support wall of the cinderblock.
  3. Line up each of the patio pavers on both sides of the brick.
  4. Stand another cinderblock in front of the rock stove, providing the opening for the fire.
  5. The last step in the construction of the rock stove and placing the last cinderblock on top of the patio pavers and brick, creating a chimney at the top.
  6. Next fill the rock stove with dry tinder and kindling.
  7. Using the Berznomatic WT2301C, ignite the fire in the rock stove, be sure to feed the fire in order to get a temperature hot enough to cook.   
  8. So the fire doesn’t get smothered, place two brick on top of the rock stove in order to allow air flow.
